Undaunted by the rugged journey of improving education

In 2003, Uncle Fai and Mr KK Wong visited the construction site of a sponsored school in Hunan. They left satisfied with the preliminary inspection, when suddenly an oncoming truck lost control and crashed into Uncle Fai’s car. The car was quite deformed; fortunately, Uncle Fai was slightly injured.

Mr KK Wong was still reeling from the shock of the traffic accident. When asked about Uncle Fai’s condition, he said, “Father recovered quickly, and I believe it is because of the kindness he had sown.” Although all family members dissuaded Uncle Fai from visiting each school repeatedly, he never gave up even after the accident for he regarded each visit to be an opportunity to re-evaluate students’ needs. “Father could not set his mind at ease until assuring the hard-earned money was well spent for a pleasant learning environment for every child.”
