A Wish Fulfilled: Meeting with Tibetan children

Uncle Fai had funded over 100 schools in his life and insisted on visiting the school himself to understand the actual situation. The trip to Zaxuexiang Kum Shing Primary Shool in Tibetan Plateau, however, was too tough for Uncle Fai at his age. In 2009, with the help of news media, the Foundation made Uncle Fai's wish come true by connecting him and the children through the internet. It was the first time they met face-to-face. 

Students sang a ballad for Uncle Fai and thanked him for the learning opportunity he had given them. Uncle Fai was delighted to receive the children’s words of blessings, and even took a picture of their heartfelt smiles. “Study hard and come visit me one day,” Uncle Fai said to them. Knowing that the children bathed without hot water even in winter, Uncle Fai proposed to the School Principal, “I shall have 10 solar water heaters installed for them.” The children were all thrilled.
